Brits 'opt for French chic in the bedroom'

Brits are looking to incorporate some French chic into their bedrooms, it has emerged.
According to a recent article in the Birmingham Mail, while Britons have long looked across the Channel for fashion and food inspiration, they are now trying to recreate "sophisticated French style" in their homes.
English designer Annie Sloan told the publication that the French look is a mix of modern bedroom furniture and vintage pieces.
"Don't hold back on decorative trims like tassels, braids and ropes for the edges of curtains, cushions and upholstery, and turn on the bling with touches of gold on mirrors and the moulding of painted doors and furniture," she added.
The interiors expert also noted that for a look which is straight out of the Riviera people should opt for blues and greys teamed with herringbone striped bedding.
Meanwhile, interiors guru Robert Verdi recently recommended incorporating luxurious bedding and textured bed throws into the bedroom to make it a more romantic space.
