When buying a new bed it is important not to cut corners, according to one commentator.
"If you buy a cheap, thin mattress, you will have to replace it sooner," asserts a recent article in the Glasgow Daily Record.
The newspaper adds that the average person will spend 11,689 hours in a bed over five years, making it essential that it is comfortable and suited to its user.
"The most important item in the bedroom is the bed, so be sure you find one that's perfect for your needs," the publication continues.
"Shop around, and don't feel embarrassed about testing out the comfort of beds in the showroom by lying on them."
Once a bed has been selected it is important to dress it in an appealing and relaxing manner, the Daily Record suggests choosing bed linen in your favourite colour and piling it will cushions and throws.
Writing for online resource My Design Secrets, an unnamed writer recently asserted that as mattresses are one of the hardest working items in the bedroom it is vital to get a comfortable one.
