A charity bed race that was resurrected last year after a ten-year hiatus was again held this year after an increase in interest, it has emerged.
The Press & Journal reported that the competition, organised by the Oban and Lorn Lions Club on the west coast of Scotland, brought together five local teams which designed and decorated their beds for the race that took place between the railway station and seafront.
It added that the eventual winners, a local rugby team, took home the first place trophy but two others were also hailed for their ingenuity.
Argyll Animal Aid raised the most sponsorship with their entry based on Noah''s Ark, with the team''s bed filled with stuffed animals.
Furthermore, another entrant, Roxy''s Cafe, were awarded for their design after creating a 1920s tearoom with cakes adorning the steering wheel of the bed.
Speaking to the newspaper, event organiser Jim Edge added: "We decided to give the event another whirl.
"Last year was very successful and we have attracted more teams this year."
The Knaresborough Post reported on the bed race held in the town, which was documented on Channel Five programme Rory and Paddy''s Great British Adventure.
