Credit crunch ''affects sleep''

The stress of bigger bills, fuel costs and a lack of available money has resulted in a "toxic cocktail" for health, causing many to lose sleep over their problems, it has emerged.
A report for the Evening Chronicle noted sleeplessness as one of many factors resulting from the exhaustion of "credit crunch stress", with money worries causing many to stay awake at night.
Vicki Thompson, a financial adviser with north-east firm Haydon Associates based in Newcastle, spoke of the health problems she has encountered from clients who are dealing with increased financial hardship due to the current economic climate.
She said: "At the moment, people are frequently coming to see me and they are clearly worried and stressed about the debt they''re accumulating at this difficult economic time."
Ms Thompson recommended that people address financial problems head on, by seeking professional advice to help them rest easier in bed.
The Inquirer of the Philippines noted that a good way to relieve stress was to eat a banana, which it said boosts energy and reduces stress.
