Tips on creating a children''s sanctuary

Tips on creating a children''s sanctuary Parents who wish to build their children the perfect "sleep sanctuary" have been offered advice by a bed linen provider.

With school holidays finishing and many gearing towards a stricter regime when it comes to getting their kids to sleep, Hiccups has listed several ways to get them to bed earlier and more successfully.

It firstly recommended the fixing of a regular bedtime covering weekends also, making them tired enough to sleep when the time is right - with a clean room, as it said messiness stops relaxation.

Furthermore, it highlighted the need to remove TVs and to use clean, fresh bedding to ease them to sleep.

The advice stated that creating an area like this in a child''s bedroom "is so important for discovering children''s creativity and exploring their imagination".

It added: "If children wake up fresh and ready to face the day their school work will thrive for the new school year."

Last month, it was revealed that children who got one hour less than the recommendation of eight hours sleep were twice as likely to be obese.
