''Postpone sleep'' to get brainwave
22/10/2008
Going to bed a little later may result in an all important brainwave that could give a person the breakthrough they need - with 10:04pm being the best time for all, according to new research.
A survey of 1,426 people across Britain showed that people were more likely to discover something groundbreaking later in the evening, meaning that an early trip to bed may not be the best thing for those hoping to solve a problem or get inspiration.
In the poll for the Crowne Plaza hotel group, it was noted that the Eureka! moment that many young creators may strive for is least likely to arise during the afternoon after 92 per cent of respondents said that they felt uninspired, with the least motivated time being 4:33pm.
However, most people forgot their moment of greatness, with 58 per cent of people losing track of any major breakthrough moment they had.
This week, rapper Eminem revealed to BBC Radio 1 that many of his moments of inspiration happened while on the toilet, including the alias Slim Shady.
