Mattress is "most important resource" for sleep

An American organisation which stresses the importance of good rest has stated that the mattress is the "most important resource" when investing in a new bed.
The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) said that buying a mattress could be an intimidating experience due to the wide array of products available, with a range of different fabrics and materials also employed by bed manufacturers.
It added that components such as memory foam or latex were prone to adjusting their effectiveness to the body, in turn affecting humidity and body temperature in bed which could make a person much more or less comfortable when in bed.
The NSF continued: "Mattress experts say that too often consumers believe that ultra-firm mattresses are good for them, but research on patients with back pain found this was not true and a more supple, comforting mattress may lead to better sleep."
It was noted by animal welfare expert Debbie Holte recently that memory foam may not be good only for humans, but dogs as well, encouraging pet owners to invest in the material for their pets.
